The London Rockin’ Rollers recreational league, or ‘Wreck League’, is an informal, mixed ability session held on Sundays to train and develop roller derby skaters of all skill levels as well as encouraging fun and fitness. You’ll rub shoulders with newly graduated Fresh Meat, guests from other leagues, casual players and aspiring travel team members.
The Wreck League is open to any skater who has completed a Fresh Meat programme, whether with us or another league (if you’re completely new to roller derby, check out our Fresh Meat page to find out when our next intake will be).
There is a supportive Facebook group monitored and run by a group of regular Wreck skaters and Wreck League Coaches that keeps everyone up to date on session plans, training updates, and general roller derby chat! You’ll be added in upon your first session with us.
Training is on Sundays from 4-6pm at Tottenham Green Leisure Centre.
Each session costs £9 per skater and consists of skating skills and drills followed by open scrimmage.
If you’re a non-contact skater or a referee, you have the option to attend only the first hour and pay a reduced fee.
To attend Wreck League, all you need to do is register through firstname.lastname@example.org and sign a waiver before attending your first session – after that, just come along and skate!
Based on various criteria, our Wreck League coaching team put forward Wreck League skaters for consideration to be progressed to Main League, or to train with our Wreck Team.
This team is run entirely by its members, who organise their extra weekly training session and games as often as possible.
Wreck Team is the stepping-stone towards Main League and gives skaters a chance to experience more advanced training and extra practice, and get a feel for being part of a team.
