After the success of our Whip It UK launch party at the Southbank Centre all those years ago, we are joining forces with London Rollergirls again on 13 October for the London premiere of Derby Baby – a story of love, addiction and rink rash!
Most people only need to attend one of our bouts to get hooked on roller derby, but ultimately where is the sport going? And how did it get here? We were really interested to see this film come out as it asks some fundamental questions about what the future holds for derby girls everywhere – will the game keep its anarchic spirit, or will it become mainstream?
Starring some famous names in roller derby and beyond including Juliette Lewis, Jerry “The Commissioner” Seltzer and er…our very own Sin D Doll, Emmy-award winning filmmakers Robin Bond and Dave Wruck explore the attraction of roller derby, why it’s grown so fast, and what’s in store for the future. Dave will even be on hand to answer some questions afterwards in an exclusive Q&A session!
So come and join us at the Roxy Bar and Screen in Borough where you can chill out on booths and sofas or enjoy a drink with us while you watch a piece of roller derby history.
Tickets are available in advance at a cost of £10 including afterparty!
