Yes, we know it’s February, but 2012 has been a busy year for us so far!
First off, the London Rockin’ Rollers All-Stars took first place at the Tattoo Freeze tournament in January against 8 top UK teams. Happy faces all round, but a little sad face too as it was the Mighty Mighty Bash’s last game as a London Rockin’ Roller.
She will be missed by LRR but has stayed close to home, seeing in the new derby season with the Brighton Rockers – this is a team that Bash has helped coach since its inception and they’re already shaping up as a force to be reckoned with!
Then, a nice surprise came in the post with the Sunday Times Magazine coverage of our pre-Christmas Boys vs Girls bout against the boys of Southern Discomfort, which included some great photography of our last ever bout in York Hall…
…and if that wasn’t enough, our first home game of the year saw our B team, AKA the Badasses, play a nail-bitingly close game against the Dolly Rockit Rollers. Bout photos to come shortly – and from what we’ve seen there’s some good ones, although nobody’s yet sent in a photo of Deadly DeVito’s ‘cheeky’ last minute antics in the penalty box!
With loads to come this year including the first LRR bootcamps, the Olympics happening in our bouting home of East London, and an all-in-one Intraleague tournament at the end of September, we wanted to keep you updated in style! The new site has an RSS feed, plus you can still join us on Facebook and Twitter for all the latest.
